The main law related to asbestos is the Control of Asbestos regulations 2012, more commonly known as the CAR 2012.
CAR 2012 applies to virtually all non-domestic buildings, and if you own, manage or operate a building it is your responsibility to make sure the workplace meets the required standards.
RM Risk Management has an experienced team of asbestos survey professionals who are able to carry out comprehensive building surveys that will identify the presence of asbestos. Our surveyors are all holders of the BOHS (British Occupational Hygiene Society) P402 qualification – the statutory proficiency certificate in ‘Building Surveys and Bulk Sampling for Asbestos’.
Our surveys and sampling techniques for suspected Asbestos Containing Materials (ACMs) are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidance documents “HSG264“ Asbestos: The survey guide and “HSG227” A comprehensive guide to Managing Asbestos in premises.
HSG264 defines two types of asbestos survey that can be undertaken for locating and assessing the condition of ACMs: Management Surveys and Refurbishment and Demolition Surveys.
If you already have an Asbestos Management Survey for your property, we are able to provide an Asbestos Re-inspection Survey to check the condition of any identified ACMs. We provide this survey nationwide for Commercial Offices, Industrial Estates, Retail Parks, Shopping Centres, Schools, Residential Care Homes and HMOs. If you are interested in a quote for a single property or portfolio, please get in touch.
Each and every report that we publish comes with a year's free license to BLOCK7.
